This is my 35th year in education. I have been blessed to teach in San Simon 29 of those 35 years. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education at Western New Mexico University in 1985. My first teaching job was in Chaparral, New Mexico where I taught 3rd grade my first year followed by 6th grade for two years. From there, my husband and I moved to Casa Grande, Arizona where I taught 5th grade at Cottonwood Elementary for two years. After that year, I took one year off to attend the University of Arizona where I obtained my Masters in Language, Reading and Culture in 1991. That August, my husband and I moved to San Simon. I taught a combination of 4th through 6th grades from 1991 to 2014. Then, I was asked to move up to high school English, which was a scary idea at first! It has, however, been a very fun and rewarding change. I have always loved teaching and I still do.
